New Menu Coming to Bistro 39
Thursday, April 29th, 2010Chef Larry will debut the new menu on Monday, May 3. The new menu combines old favorites and current classics, and introduces new novelties to Bistro 39 diners.
We know you will love the new Stuffed Mushrooms - fresh criminis baked with boursin cheese, served with a baguette, as well as the Jidori (organic free-range) Chicken Breast, and the Pork Chop - with roasted butternut squash, feta cheese and cilantro. Many more new, mouth-watering dishes will peak your curiosity and satisfy your stomach.
Never fear, we’ll still have classics like the Mobley Burger, the Grilled Caesar Salad, and the Grilled Pizzas. The Ahi Tuna, Mahi Tacos and Center Cut Rib Eye are also sticking around.
Finally, back by popular demand: the Fried Asparagus, Sirloin Skewers, Sliced Steak Salad, and Lamb T-Bone.
We can’t wait to share this new menu with you. See y’all on Monday!
Wine Tasting April 17 ~ Visit The Rhone
Wednesday, April 7th, 2010Sans Permis 2005 Etoile Filante Marsanne/Roussanne - Anyone familiar with Rhone whites will appreciate this California version. Deep fruit on entry, ripe lemon, mineral and lime on the palate, a light oily texture and a lasting finish of fruit and mineral.
Sans Permis 2005 La Petite Colline Rouge - Deep red color and nose of brambly fruit, baking spices, earth and smoke are just a hint of what lies ahead. Blackberries, spice and roasted meats are evident. This baby Gigondas is a very good wine, and a very good value.
Boheme Syrah 2005 Santa Lucia Highlands - Deep black/purple color. Smoky, gamy nose with a nice floral lift. Earthy on the palate, black figs, plums, berries, Indian spices, cracked pepper, good acidity. Rich, inviting mouthfeel. Strong midpalate and finish. Complex elegance. Hermitage meets the Monterey Bay in this amazing wine!
Cabot Syrah 2006 Kimberly’s - this wine features an impressive nose of smoke, tar, pepper, leather, and barnyard. In the mouth, it shows rich, fresh, clean, robust flavors of fruit, spice and bacon coupled with a generous dose of acidity that is well balanced and makes this a very food-friendly wine. Keeps improving in the glass. This wine has a long and happy life ahead. This wine channels the Cote-Rotie with its use of viognier.
To continue the tradition, you are welcome to bring a special bottle of wine to share. We ask that you refrain from opening this bottle until the conclusion of the tasting at 5:30. At that time, feel free to enjoy the wine in the lounge where the event takes place, at the bar or in the restaurant. There will be no corkage fee in any of these locations.
Tercero 2006 Cuvee Christie - The wine has a distinctive nose of raspberries, cherries, rhubarb and spices. It takes on weight in the mouth and finishes with a healthy dose of acid and well-integrated tannins. A blend of grenache, syrah & mourvedre that pays homage to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Bodega Rancho 2007 Syrah Que Syrah Vineyard - blueberries, raspberries and black pepper shine in this wine. Great intensity of flavor, showcasing all that is capable of cool-climate syrah, dark fruits, roasted meats, salinity, minerality and cracked pepper. This syrah shows refined and structured elegance balanced with acidity. Cornas meets the Sonoma Coast in this wine!
Neighboring Serenity Spa gets Happy Hour Shout Out
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010We want to give a quick shout out to our neighbors next door at Serenity Spa & Salon who are featured in April’s issue of Lodging magazine. Click here to read “Personalize, Economize and Socialize,” which highlights new trends in Spas. Leading the trend is the Serenity Spa Happy Hour.
“While day spas have always been a popular retreat, the concept of mini-spa services and sampler packages is becoming all the rage for those who don’t have the time - or funds - for big spurges.
Serenity Spa and Salon, on the Hilton Campus in San Diego, Calif., is combating the unstable economy by providing a quick fix. In addition to offering promotions and disconunted services, Serenity recently launched its “Serenity Happy Hour” that promotes fun express services, while introducing new clients to diverse treatments.
The happy hour offers 25-minute services ranging from massage, to body scrubs, pedicures, and facials. To encourage socializing, these discounted services come with low-cost appetizers and a free cocktail. Price points start much lower than a full treatment.
Spa Director Jessica Woolfrey expains, “I think guests are always seraching for different things to do in a group setting that does not have a huge price tag attached. We have definitely jumped on this with the Serenity Happy Hour. It meshes the right-priced services with a fun and relaxing time spent with yourself, one friend or a group of ten. The response has been fantastic!”
Nice work Serenity:)
