let’s reflect on our history.

Bistro 39 Restaurant and Lounge opened its doors to the public in April 2009. Located in the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn San Diego / Del Mar, Bistro 39 serves a variety of American bistro classics with a California twist.

Besides creating unique flavors, at Bistro 39 we pride ourselves on serving the freshest, high quality food by using only local companies from California farms that deliver to us every morning – and you can truly taste the difference.

In 2015, we decided to spice things up a notch. We vamped up our menu with new, original dishes crafted by our head chef, Jose Fraire, influenced from Southern California’s rich culture and cuisine. We created new Happy Hour specials for every day of the week (half off wine bottles, anyone?), family-friendly deals (Kids eat free Friday through Sunday) and we added plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options to our diverse menu.


It was time for a fresh start.

We’ve got tons of fun events planned for this Fall, whether you’re a football fan, craft beer connoisseur, or proud foodie. We’ll be debuting our happenings on social media and in our newsletter, so connect with us to get steals on tastings, prix-fixe meals and holiday events. Our number one priority has always been the experience of our guests, whether you’re a local or just visiting San Diego, and we want you to know – we listened!
